Halo Celebrates 10th Year with Art Book

Halo Celebrates 10th Year with Art Book

The only thing I enjoy as much as gaming is reading a bloody good book, and thanks to wonderful people over at Titan Books, I can now merge my two favourite past times into one by reading bloody good books about video games. I know: pretty awesome, right?

Along with novels based within the universes of some of the hottest games around (Crysis or Deus Ex for example), Titan are also set to celebrate Halo’s tenth anniversary in style with the release of Halo: The Great Journey: The Art of Building Worlds.

The Art of Building Worlds is the ultimate gallery of the Halo universe, with over 400 images including sketches, commentary, and concept art from all stages of development, including characters, weapons, and sweeping landscapes” the press release tells us. “From the earliest concepts for The Pillar of Autumn and The Maw to the streets of New Mombasa, from Master Chief to Noble Six, here you’ll find unparalleled access to the artistic innovation of the Halo archive.”

Senior Commissioning Editor Laura Price stated “Halo is phenomenal. A fantastic game that looks simply incredible. The artworks we’ve been working with are masterpieces and having the artists’ commentary has been a real coup. Breathtaking.”

Can’t wait? Nope. Me neither. But unfortunately we have to! The Art of Building Worlds is scheduled to be published on 18 October 2011 by Titan Books, priced at £24.99.
