Robotics engineer wows fans with Portal replicas

Everyone has a list of painfully nerdy pieces of memorabilia that they would do anything to own in a perfect world. I have spent many a boring hour thinking about the unlimited household applications of a fully functioning lightsabre, flying through space aboard the Normandy, weilding the Witchblade amulet, infiltrating secret facilities using Stealth Camo and pulling off jaw-dropping jumps with a Portal gun and Long Fall Boots, just to name a few. Well prepare to add the following stroke of genius to your ever increasing list of dream gadgets, because a robotics expert from the United States has created fully functioning replicas of the Personality Cores from the finale of Valve’s hit title – Portal 2.

The engineer named Chris Myles has an impressive list of personal projects to his name, ones which will make his work the envy of gamers everywhere. His previous endevours have seen him build replicas of the Hidden Blade from ‘Assassins Creed’, a full sized Iron Man Arc Reactor and recreations of Mass Effect costumes which have brought fans to their knees in awe. But it is here that Myles could soon find himself shaking off fans with fistfulls of cash with a stick, with his Personality Cores reproduced with stunning attention to detail. His project has seen him build ‘Wheatley’, ‘The Adventure core’, ‘Fact core’ and everyones favourite ‘Spaaaaaaaaaace’ core. Check out Myles’s YouTube channel for his portfolio of work including the Portal cores here!

Fans and admirers of the gifted engineer’s work are already calling for the likes of Valve to plug some money his way in order to produce them to sell, but sadly for the time being they remain one of a kind treasures for Mr Myles to enjoy. Here’s hoping all the same…
