Dear Musical World, Play for Japan’s Album is About to Launch

Sweet, sweet music to our ears. At last, we are finally graced with details on Play for Japan: The Album. In a video message recorded earlier today, Akira Yamaoka expressed that his goal with the album was to convey the spirit of hope and encouragement and to also “share all the warmth and compassion” he and his country have received from the international community.

Yamaoka-san revealed that the album will be available early next month on iTunes, although a precise release date and whether the album will be released in another format is unknown at this point. He has also revealed the official album cover to the album, illustrated by famed Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano:

Whimsical and definitely conveying the heartfelt love, only how Amano-san can do it. The tracklisting for the album has been also been released, and is as follows:

  • Play for Japan states that 100% of all the proceeds that come from the sale of this album will go straight to the Japanese Red Cross.
