If you had fun riding on Ruin as you crossed the lines between good and evil, then it sounds like you had a great time in Darksiders. If you finished and wanted more, well then your wish is THQ’s command.
In an announcement earlier today, THQ confirmed that Darksiders 2 will ride into the fray sometime in 2012. When will that be, we don’t know, but hopefully it’ll happen before the supposed end of the world according to the Mayan calendar.
While details were sparse in regards to the actual content of the game, THQ did specify that you will not be continuing the story as War upon his trusty steed Ruin. Instead, meet and greet Death, who will be your next Apocalyptic Horseman of control. His role in the Darksiders universe will be to clear up any leftover misunderstandings in regards to War’s actions in the first Darksiders title.
THQ has confirmed that “a dramatically larger world” will be featured in Darksiders 2, alongside bigger and better weapons, bigger dungeons, and new enemies. We’re going to go ahead and assume that they’re going to be bigger as well.
Are you excited? You better be. While Darksiders quietly flew under the radar, those of us who stopped to take a look at War’s story were treated to a fun action title. Perhaps you might consider grabbing it from the pre-owned bin the next time you’re passing by your favorite game store?
Darksiders 2 will be riding into action on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC at an undisclosed time next year. And we don’t anticipate it bringing the actual Apocalypse with it.
