Reading for Free: L.A. Noire’s The Collected Stories Now Available in eBook Stores

6 Jun, 2011

This great collection of short stories from the likes of Megan Abbott, Lawrence Block, Joe Lansdale, Joyce Carol Oates, Francine Prose, and others is available for free on Amazon, iTunes, and Barnes & Noble ebook stores. That’s right, it won’t cost you a penny to read these great stories.

So what’s exactly in these electronic pages? Good question. Eight short stories were penned shortly before the game’s release to huge success. In each tale, characters and cases from the game itself are revisted, and we’re also treated to some spin-offs from actual 1940s headlines.

Picking up the full anthology will also give you three more short stories to enjoy: Andrew Vachss’ “Postwar Boom,” Francine Prose’s “School for Murder,” and Megan Abbott’s “The Girl.”

So, Detective, do you fancy solving some more cases? If you do, then you’d better get going, because this offer won’t last for very long. After June 12th, the price for the full anthology will go up to $0.99. Get ready to re-enter the glitzy glam and gritty streets of old Los Angeles, save some damsels, and catch some bad guys while you’re at it. Good luck out there.
