  1. Am I the only one who see’s a lot of the movie in this trailer? Especially at 1:10 – that looks a lot like one of the locations from the film.

The Alan Wake-esque look is even more apparent here too, like with that shot of the waterfall. I am still struggling to keep my skepticism at bay – out of habit I still compare any Silent Hill title to the original 3 games (old habits die hard). I look forward to playing this mind, it looks like a decent game in it’s own right regardless!

    • I know what you mean Jen, the first time I saw any images from the game all I could see was Alan Wake, which just shouldn’t be happening. (Alan Wake should be being inspired by Silent Hill not the other way around!)

I also thought it was a bit erm… nasty? (Not the right word) of the developers to make the comment of ‘This looks nothing like Alan Wake’ while they were in the otherworld on their E3 demo (Even though the scene before looked like it could have been lifted right from Alan Wake). It came across to me as if they were just basically bashing the fans who really care about Silent Hill.

I also feel the need to comment on the over use by the developers of saying ‘We’re not making it like Homecoming’ which annoys me greatly since regardless of what anyone thinks Homecoming was still a game in the series and a relatively unknown developer (Vatra) is in the same shoes as the developers of Homecoming were (Especially when to me Downpour is looking a lot like Homecoming anyway).

On the other hand, I am looking forward to the game, mainly since it’s a survival horror game and I can’t get enough of them, but I’m still skeptical that it will be a good Silent Hill game.
