1912. The United States is becoming the world power, dominating all that stands in its path. What better way to prove that it is truly the best, with the launch of a floating city?
Enter Booker DeWitt, former Pinkerton agent, now on his way to the floating city. Columbia, a majestic and imposing city of American ideals, awaits him. You will assume the role of Mr. DeWitt, to rescue Elizabeth, an enigmatic young woman seemingly imprisoned upon the city since early childhood. Her warden? The horrifying and fearsome Songbird, a mechanical creature that looks, as you guessed, like a bird straight out of a hellish Steampunk novella.
As you traverse through this supposed Atlantis-in-the-Clouds, you’ll be challenged with facing enemies that do battle on zip lines, high octane bar fights, and some of the strangest Plasmids you will find this side of the atmosphere.
Unlike previous BioShock titles, Infinite’s setting of Columbia is anything but devoid of life. In fact, as you run through the streets of this city, it quickly becomes apparent that while people still live here, some folks just aren’t of sound mind. Kind of like Splicers, without the touch of maniacal weaponry. Check out the many faces of some of the troubled citizens and the scenery of Columbia:
Enough to tide you over? It better be, because Columbia is dropping through the skies in 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
