Xbox and GAME Team up for New Trade-in Deal

13 Jun, 2011

I upgraded from my knackered 20GB Arcade Xbox 360 to my 250GB HDD less than a WEEK before Xbox announced the new slim model.

Gutted? Oh, yes. My grief was palpable.

So whilst the world and his dog seem to have upgraded to their whisper-quiet, built-in WiFi, super-sleek models, I still have my good ole Super Elite sitting like an ugly plastic brick beneath my TV. Do I want to upgrade? Yes. BUT IT’S THE PRINCIPAL, GODDAMMIT.

Well, I have good news for those of you who, like me, have been hanging on in there. Running from today until mid-July (the 13th, to be precise – although the website also give the 29 June as a closure date, so who knows for sure!), Xbox have teamed up with GAME for a new trade-in promotion that should tempt even the most thrifty amongst us. Whilst actual values vary depending upon the console you have to trade, GAME are offering anywhere from £60-£100 for your old (albeit in working order) console, enabling you to put that towards the cost of a shiny new Slim. Cool, eh? Just be aware that to trade, you also need to relinquish your associated cables and one controller, too. (My advice? Give away the grubby/well-used one!)

But that’s not all! GAME will also permit you to trade-in other consoles too. (Anyone else annoyed that they only have a white Wii too …?)

What's your Xbox worth?
