Bet that caught your eye, didn’t it? Earlier this week, Ubisoft tantalized Assassin’s Creed fans by announcing an “Animus Edition” of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Revelations title, due out November 15th in North America of this year. The pre-order is currently an exclusive at GameStop outlets, and will include a myriad of add-on content.
One of the add-on missions in the Animus Edition asks the player to explore further, seeking out the cell in which Vlad the Impaler, the infamous inspiration for Count Dracula, was hung. Don’t get your hopes up for a confrontation with Dracula in a supernatural form, although that would probably be something people will pay to see.
Will it be worth the price? GameStop has said that there are a lot of goodies to be had in the Animus Edition, which includes:
- An in-depth encyclopedia that provides comprehensive information on major characters, events, and other important aspects of the Assassin’s Creed world.
- The original game soundtrack to Assassin’s Creed Revelations
- An animated short film called Assassin’s Creed Embers
Game add-ons include:
- A side mission that requires Ezio to find the hanging cell of Vlad the Impaler, who resisted the spread of the Ottoman Empire into his beloved Romania during his tenure as Romania’s leader. In Vlad’s cell will be a special weapon, a blade that specializes in close quarters combat.
- Capacity upgrades will be made available for hidden gun bullets, bombs, and crossbow bolts.
- Two additional multiplayer characters: The Crusader and the Jester from Brotherhood, except upgraded to have a more Ottoman flare.
- Brutus’ armor from Brotherhood
- An exclusive customization item
