It doesn’t take much effort to get the Valve fan community to get creative with their games, but the concept of prestige and juicy prizes is always a good way to keep them encouraged! Valve’s Portal 2 is already destined to be one of this years finest titles, and has been widely recognised as a master class in innovation and design, and of course there is that soundtrack! For the eagar players who have gone to great lengths to find all of the little treasures that the game has offer, they will of course remember the musical contribution of indie band ‘The National’ with ‘Exile, Vilify’ in amongst an already shining soundtrack.
As it stands the song does not currently have a music video, and that is where you come in! Valve are offering the chance to win a guitar signed by the band and a truck load of Valve goodies for the most creative music video submitted – from live action, games clips, footage and images of the band or even a sock puppet! So get cracking, as all submissions must be uploaded to YouTube for consideration by July 15th with the tag PORTAL2NATIONALEXILE.
Valve’s previous music video contest turned out to be a real show case of fan creativity, when the challenge was set to create a music video to ficticious metal group ‘The Midnight Riders’ and their song ‘Save me some Sugar (This won’t take long)’ set within the Left 4 Dead universe. Check out the previous winner to get those creative juices flowing, and good luck to all!
Will you be entering the Portal 2 music video contest? Share you submissions with us over at the Community Forums!
