That athlete is… Steven Stamkos!
You’re probably wondering – who?
Let me break it down for you. If you haven’t heard of Steven Stamkos yet and you watch or enjoy hockey – you will be hearing of him soon. Only 21 years of age, this sniper has a couple of awards under his belt already. He has already been awarded with the Maurice Richard award (goes to the player with most goals in a season), appeared in the All-Star game this past winter, and was a finalist for the 2010-11 Ted Lindsey Award (given to the most outstanding player as voted by the players).
Very impressive already!
He is also a very key player in Tampa Bay and one of the main reasons for their success this season.
Needless to say, he is a up and coming rising star in terms of the hockey world and he definitely deserves to be put on the NHL 12 cover!
