Epic and Microsoft are investigating the emergence of an unfinished build of their highly anticipated blockbuster, Gears of War 3. Consisting of a early version of the single player campaign, the build has been circulating various torrent websites in the past few days, causing various spoilers to be released well ahead of the September due date.
This isn’t the first time that developers have suffered at the hands of the pirating minority. High profile titles such as Crysis 2, Killzone 3 and Halo Reach all found their way onto file sharing sites, many months before their official release dates. Neither Microsoft and Epic Games have disclosed just how the leak happened, but they’re working on it with various security firms as we speak.
No doubt many of you will already have seen/read the spoilers we’re speaking of, but for those of you who aren’t so well informed, I urge you to wait for the official release on the 20th September. Gears of War 3 is one of the most talked about video game releases this year, and it deserves to be played as a fresh experience.
