Play for Japan: The Album is Now Available on iTunes

9 Jul, 2011

Been waiting for a long time on this, haven’t we? First announced back in April of this year, Silent Hill musical mastermind (and recently Shadow of the Damned‘s audio engineer) Akira Yamaoka announced this project to help with tsunami and earthquake relief efforts in Japan. With some of the brightest musical geniuses in the industry, Yamaoka-san put together a great lineup with music from Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame to Woody Jackson of Red Dead Redemption.

Finally, we can enjoy the fruits of their hard labor.

Today, a post from Grasshopper Manufacture’s Facebook Page stated that the entire Play for Japan: The Album is available for release in select iTunes stores. It features 18 tracks and art by famed Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano. If you’re wanting the album but don’t like iTunes, you’ll have to be patient. The album will become available worldwide on both iTunes and Amazon MP3 next Friday on July 15th.
