Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Evil Character and Costume Details Announced
Earlier this week, news of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, including bits on new stages and characters, leaked. Today at San Diego Comic-Con, game producer Ryota Niitsuma confirmed the accuracy of those rumors and gave fans some yet unheard news. He announced that the game will include alternate costumes for each character beyond mere color swaps. For example, Phoenix will have six costumes, encompassing the various looks she donned throughout New X-Men, X-Factor and Age of Apocalypse. Evil versions of characters will also be featured, and fans at the convention were given glimpses of evil Wolverine, Iron Man and Hawkeye.
Folks who preorder the game will unlock the following downloadable content: GameStop preorders include X-Men’s Storm and X-23, Street Fighter’s Chun Li and Dragon Age’s Morrigan; Best Buy preorders include Street Fighter’s Crimson Viper, Resident Evil’s Wesker and The Fantastic Four’s Super-Skrull; Amazon preorders include a Marvel/X-Men Sentinel, Doom Wars’ Doctor Doom, the title character of Strider and a cyber version of Street Fighter’s Akuma.
The game is slated for a November, 2011 release and will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If you can’t wait until then, Marvel has posted a handful of gameplay trailers for your viewing pleasure.
