Job Listings Say a Lot: Epic Working on New IP

Life is going to go on (and on) after Gears of War 3, so don’t despair fellow COGs. While Epic has remained quite mum on what’s to come in the future, a new programming job listing found on the Epic Games website has hinted that there’s something in the works. “Epic Games is looking for Gameplay Programmers to join the team currently working on Gears of War 3,” says the listing, “as well as a new unannounced IP in development.”

While nothing has been confirmed by Epic themselves, anything is possible, as Cliff Bleszinski recently said in an interview with Rip Ten. We can even expect the world of Sera to keep returning if all goes well with Gears 3 sales figures. “It’s just business 101,” said Bleszinski.

What will it be? Another Gears installment, or perhaps we’ll see a return to Unreal Tournament? Only time will tell in this case. Seeing as how mindful Cliff Bleszinski is of his fanbase, we have no doubts that he will make the right call.
