Wii owners who have been craving a football game starring dogs, your dreams have now been realized. Yes, the much mentioned Jerry Rice and Nitus Dog Football title has finally found a publisher and is ready for retail release on August 16th, 2011.
Jerry Rice and Nitus Dog Football will have you fielding a team from one of 14 Quarterbacks (including Jerry Rice) and over 20 breed of dogs that will play for the coveted Golden Hydrant Trophy. You will also have the opportunity to play across 12 interactive fields of play.
It is funny to see this game come to fruition after many, many months of the developer searching for a publishing deal, including pouring his life savings into this title, feeling that the dog football market had been woefully underserved by game publishers.
Seriously, I cannot see who this game is marketed for, but it is a reality and it is coming in less than a week to Nintendo Wii owners. If you want to get an early feel for the title, there is both a PC demo you can download at the publisher’s website, as well as a social Flash based game at the same location.
