We all knew it was going to happen as Sony took the stage at Gamescom. While trying to capture interest in their new portable platform, Sony announced that several big name series will be coming to the PS Vita lineup. Sony Europe’s new CEO Jim Ryan said that Ubisoft’s beloved assassination franchise will be coming along in 2012, complete with a new story.
Unfortunately, we weren’t given any video evidence of what was being developed, but Ryan said that the other names in Ubisoft’s company will include BioShock, Call of Duty, FIFA, and Rayman Origins. Will this be enough to turn the tide in Vita’s favor?
No gameplay was shown for any of the announced titles, but past videos demonstrating the Vita’s graphical qualities may be enough to swing hardcore gamers in its favor. Ken Levine recently told Sony in an interiew that as a hardcore gamer, the ability to play an FPS game on a handheld that featured two analog sticks was a truly wonderful thing.
All this mention of Assassin’s Creed and nothing to show for it? Watch the latest trailer from Ubisoft, entitled “Assassin’s Creed Universe,” detailing all of the games and spin-offs. Of course it ends with a tantalizing look at Revelations. Check it out:
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is set for Constantinople on November 15th.
