Gamescom is upon us, as developers and fans alike converge on Cologne, Germany. Because it’s such a huge deal, all the news-makers from E3 had to show up, right? The answer is yes, and we have heard nary a thing from Ninja Theory’s retake on the Devil May Cry series from June until a new trailer was released just earlier today.
Many diehard fans of Devil May Cry have always enjoyed the stylish play of swords and guns, and have been curious about the combat system and how it would look. While the E3 gameplay trailer gave us tiny glimpses into that, we have yet to see anything extended. An interview with Ninja Theory from the floor of E3 revealed that the team had been hard at work to capture the magical fighting moments and the right flavor with their little spin on our favorite demon hunter.
The fruits of their labor have been revealed, somewhat, as the newest trailer gives us a glimpse into the combat system. Check it out:
Dante looks in fine form, but some fans still can’t help but gripe about Ninja Theory’s notorious reputation for having clunky combat systems.
Still excited for DmC? A few of us are, but whether Ninja Theory can carry on Dante’s legacy will remain to be seen. No release date has been set for DmC just yet, but we’re going to go ahead and guess sometime in 2012.
