PAX Prime 2011: Irrational Brings on the Rational with BioShock Panels and Swag
Everyone else is announcing their big line-ups for yet another gaming blow out, and Irrational won’t be any different. Trekking from Boston to Seattle, they’re going to make sure the trip is worth the while, for themselves and for us too.
There’s going to be a slew of booth events, and there’s going to be two panels showcasing the wonderments of Columbia. Okay, perhaps not explicitly during the panels, but the thought is there. Friday afternoon’s panel features Creative Director Ken Levine with David Jaffe (God of War), and Todd Howard (Elder Scrolls) having a good time, discussing the state of the gaming industry, and hanging out with GTTV’s Geoff Keighley.
It’s another panel on Saturday afternoon, when Levine is joined by Troy Baker and Courtnee Draper, the voice actors for Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth. It’s the closest we’ll ever see of them in the flesh, and it’s also their first public appearance in conjunction with BioShock Infinite. It’ll be a fruitful discussion of what it takes to bring characters to life through voice in video games, and lucky fans who can squeeze into the conference room will get a peek at behind-the-scenes footage. Oh yeah, and they want to sign stuff too, so if you’re going to be there, bring something you want signed.
If you’re wondering what’s going on with Irrational’s booth, then you’ll be happy to hear that Songbird will be terrorizing us again. PAX East saw the life-size statue at the booth, and was accompanied by a model acting as Elizabeth. They’re going to be in Seattle too, so if you fancy taking a crazy photo with Songbird, then you’d be at the right place.
All weekend long, fans will get a chance to play games at the booth which will enable them to win posters and other neat swag. Irrational is also showing more fan love by giving out T-Shirts, and other swag they’ll dream up. Anything can happen with this crew.
Going to be at PAX? If you are, you better swing by Irrational’s booth and say hi, otherwise Songbird might have issues.
