Watch Your Knee Caps, Grasshopper Unveils Black Knight Sword’s Debut Trailer

In a fantastical world of knights, shining armor, and princesses, we typically want to save the white princess from the black knight at the top of a very tall tower. In the usual Grasshopper Manufacture fashion, we’re getting that whole fairy tale turned upside down on its head.

Inspired by the traditional Japanese kabuki style and the inevitable meshing of old-meets-new, it’s got a lot of old world 2D charms in it. You play as the Black Knight, out to save the world from…the White Princess?

While details are scant, we do know that it will be another PSN/XBL download only game, another in partnership with Hungarian studio Digital Reality. Earlier in the week, Grasshopper also revealed the debut trailer, which didn’t give us much to go on either. It gave us a cute little glimpse into the storyline of the game, but little else was revealed. Check out the debut trailer:

We can already hear viewers complaining about just how awful the trailer was, but don’t knock it just yet: Grasshopper also released these little screenshots alongside it.
