OnLive and Gamespot Team Up For Instant Demos

OnLive and Gamespot Team Up For Instant Demos

30 Aug, 2011

While a demo is always nice when it comes to trying out a game before you buy it, the downside is that you have to end up spending a good hour downloading a demo, only to find out you don’t like it. Gamestop might have found a solution to this issue, with a new partnership with OnLive.

Starting today, certain game reviews in the PC section of Gamestop will feature a link to the same game via the OnLive service. Clicking on the link will take you through the install and setup process for the OnLive client and within a few minutes you will be up and running the demo. After the initial setup, trying other demos will start very quickly.

This is not the first time something like this has been done, as Walmart has been setting up instant demos with Gaikai via their GameCenter portal. Recent demos through Walmart have included Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2.

Below is a look at the Gamestop/OnLive link on the Red Faction Armageddon page.
