It’s hard to believe ten years have passed since Halo: Combat Evolved was released. The game, then published by Bungie, is responsible for putting the Xbox 360 on the map and, in turn, revolutionizing gaming. The resulting franchise has been indulged in by all demographics of gamers ranging from hardcore to casual to frat boy alike.
To mark the tenth anniversary, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will be released on November 15, 2011. The game itself is being developed by 343 Industries in collaboration with Saber Interactive and Certain Affinity now that Bungie has stepped down. The game is an HD and 3D remake of the campaign and multiplayer from the original. It is available for pre-order now and UK fans who pre-order from GAME or gamestation will receive some special Halo swag with their order.
The gift that will accompany pre-orders (while supplies last) is a special edition collector’s booklet based on the book Halo: The Art of Building Worlds. The booklet is a twenty-four-page collection of art from throughout the Halo series and includes concept art, sweeping landscapes from the Halo universe, and of course the evolution of Master Chief. It will contain over four-hundred pieces of art from over thirty different artists who each had a hand in designing the look of Halo.
Folks in the UK ready to pre-order and snag this swag can do so at GAME or gamestation.
