It’s definitely convention season as Gamescom, PAX, and now the first ever Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles, CA have gamers the world over wondering if their checking accounts will ever recover. We all hope that they will, because the upcoming release schedule is proving to be almost unbearable for many of us.
Just a few hours ago, Microsoft unveiled a treat for any Modern Warfare junkie: a limited edition Xbox 360 with matching themed accessories will be availble starting November 8th in the United States, Canada, Mexica, Australia, New Zealand, and EMEA. According to Major Nelson, the console will feature a distressed graphic from the game, two controllers that sport the same themed graphic, a 320GB hard drive, a copy of the Modern Warfare 3 game, and neat sound effects when the console is turned on/off, and also when the tray is opened and closed.
As if that weren’t enough, a one month Xbox Live Gold subscription will be included as well. Since you’ll be pimped out in real life, you have to pimp out your avatar for maximum effect too. Exclusive items will be available for redeeming when you purchase the tricked out system — nothing like rubbing your friends’ face in it, right?
Careful with the price tag though. At a hefty $399.00 USD, you might want to consider saving up a couple paychecks for it. Or you could try to guilt trip your friends into getting it for you as an early Christmas present.
While some of us can’t wait for the console itself, Xbox 360 will also be launching two limited edition accessories on October 11th. The first is the Modern Warfare 3 Wireless Bluetooth Headset. The headset package will include artwork that matches the console and will have a charging cradle, ear loop, ear gel, and an Xbox Live token for an exclusive download. None of these accessories will be cheap, and this little headset will set you back $69.99 USD.
The second is the Modern Warfare 3 Wireless Controller, which uses the same model as the newer controllers that feature the transforming D-pad. The controller will feature artwork to compliment the console, but no other perks are packaged along with it. However, the price is $59.99 USD, the same as the controller without the graphics on it.
