MMO-Champion have just posted an update related to the long awaited 4.3 patch for World of Warcraft, which will see players finally being able to take down Deathwing.
- If you add up all of the Deathwing encounter stages, it will be the longest fight in the game.
- Each stage of the fight will take place in a different location and offer some loot.
- The encounter starts at Wyrmrest Temple, progressing toward the players being on Deathwing’s back while he is flying toward The Maelstrom.
- The new five man encounters will build up to the Deathwing fight, similar to how the Icecrown five man instances built up to the Lich King.
Though my days of a serious raider are behind me, I do still like to beat the new content at least once. One thing Bizzard do very well is a sense of personal achievement and generally making you feel epic. Their boss fights are a whole different level of co-operation and tactics that are simply not present in any other game out there.
This Deathwing battle looks intense, and the idea of spending part of it riding on the back of the Aspect of Death himself is too awesome for words. I can see much pain and stress ahead for raiders worldwide.
For those of you who aren’t hugely familiar with the current big bag-guy in Blizzard’s omnipresent MMO. He’s this guy. Yup. He’s a dragon with a metal jaw.
