With an insatiable appetite for adorable, yet obscure iPhone gaming titles, I bring you: Jelly Defense. Courtesy of Polish developer Infinite Dreams, Jelly Defense is the most prominent the “Jelly” series, preceded by Jelly Chronicles and Jelly Invaders and Talking Jelly Clock.
Whilst the precursors to Jelly Defense were merely promotional fodder produced to get gamers acquainted with the “Jelly” Universe, the latest incarnation is a full-length tower-defense game boasting over 20 campaign missions and 10 different types of tower with which to strategise. Players can also enjoy both normal and hardcore speed modes and Game Center integration.
The trailer typically provides a decent taster of what’s to come when the game is released towards the end of the month. However, when it comes to price, that’s where things get a little… less typical.
Currently tipped with a price tag of $9.99 [at time of writing], the developers are encouraging users to reduce the price to a quite frankly, bargain-tastic $0.99 – in time for the launch – simply by spreading the word on social networking websites.
The premise is simple: Each “tweet” on Twitter and Facebook “like” will constitute as 1 vote; the more votes made, the lower the price drops. Log your “votes” and check out the price-drop meter over at the official website.
Jelly Defense will be released on 29th September 2011, for iOS devices and will be released for Mac and Android later in the year.
