You read that right. Valve Corporation have decided that, for the next four days, copies of Portal purchased through Steam are free. Wonderful stuff.
The sudden pang of generousity from the firm comes as part of an education initiative, hoping to encourage teachers to use Portal to help develop maths, science, critical thinking and technology skills in the classroom. It still remains challenging for adults, with its unique approach to problem solving and overcoming physical obstacles.
Regardless of the reasoning behind it, there’s no better time to get hold of one of the best titles of 2007. Witty, intelligent and ridiculously quotable, (“The cake is a lie”) Portal is a personal favourite amoungst the GGS team. You can download Portal for free over at the Steam store – both for Windows and Mac – until the 20th of September.
