If you were wanting to import games from a different country onto your Vita, then you don’t have to worry about it giving you the finger. During the unveiling at E3 earlier this year, Sony Executive Michael Denny said that “as far as he knew,” the Vita would be region-free.
Ealier this week, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, confirmed on Twitter in response to a question that yes, the Vita would indeed be region-free.
If you’re a fan of niche Japanese titles that publishers don’t find worthy of localization, all you have to do is import it yourself, or buy a Japanese system and import it then. We’d have to question why you would want two PlayStation Vita systems, though.
