U.S. Gaming Charts: September 4th – September 10th

19 Sep, 2011

What a shift a week can make. With the arrival of superstar titles Dead Island and Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, the chart-toppers of the last few weeks have finally been knocked from their comfortable little perch. It’s no surprise that Deep Silver’s controversial zombie-slaying horror title took top honors this week, followed by Sony’s exclusive powerhouse Resistance 3 in the solid #2 spot. Warhammer also made an impact, coming in at #6. Not bad, especially going up against Resistance and Dead Island.

With the triple-A release season upon us, things are starting to look good for gamers wanting the new stuff. The past week also saw the release of Japan’s crazy RPG Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten, Driver: San Francisco and a little bit of retro-gaming rehash with Star Fox 64 3D for 3DS owners. Deus Ex: Human Revolution still remains a force to be reckoned with holding #12 for the Xbox and #17 for the PlayStation, but ultimately gamers are ready to move on to other adventures. For now, at least.
