The march to remake old Left 4 Dead maps goes on, as Valve recently released an announcement saying that the Death Toll campaign is now available as a beta release through Steam. Hopefully there won’t be anything embarassing hidden in the code on this release.
Just like the previous campaigns remade, Valve is asking for the community’s help to report bugs and send suggestions on how to make the new campaigns even better than before. “We have made a few changes based on issues we saw during internal testing,” said Valve in their latest dev blog post. “It will be interesting to see what people think of those changes. No hints on what the changes are, we want you to play with fresh eyes.”
Other changes that the dev team was quick to point out were changes to the finale, and reading through the feedback for the Blood Harvest beta.
With all of the old campaigns going through beta testing, gamers must really be wondering: when is the real deal being released? Repeated promises of the Cold Stream DLC being released at the end of summer look to be some serious guff at this point. In typical Valve fashion, we’re going to have another delay. So long as it means a perfected product, right? “At the current rate of testing, feedback, and updating, we are looking at around Halloween,” said the blog post.
Perfect. Right smack in the middle of My Bank Account is Going to Hate Me Season. Well, at least we’ll be kept very busy by a lot of fun little things.
So much for saving up during the holidays.
