From Software Drops Max-Level Foes Against Street Date Breakers

From Software Drops Max-Level Foes Against Street Date Breakers

22 Sep, 2011

We’ve seen all sorts of reactions to broken street dates. According to IGN, when retailers in Norway broke the Gears of War 3 street date, Microsoft vowed to investigate the matter and look at it “very seriously.” When Dark Souls imminent release date in Japan was broken, they released unbeatable max-level enemies into the game.

Often (but not always) it’s the case that release dates are broken by the piracy scene, and I must say this is a much better solution than some draconian DRM scheme that ends up pissing everyone off. Kudos to From Software for using such a creative solution. And plus, since there are unbeatable enemies, it’s more like Demon’s Souls. Bonus!
