Blizzard sent out word today that their upcoming, and much anticipated sequel Diablo 3, is now confirmed for an early 2012 release date. While most were expecting and hoping that the Blizzard team would get Diablo 3 out before the end of the year, it now looks as if the title is not going to make that windows.
But do not lose faith in the delay Diablo 3 fans, as there is a reason for the delay as you can see below.
“With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn’t put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we’re taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players. Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers.”
So yes, Diablo 3 is delayed to early 2012, but it looks as if the extra time is being well spent on polishing up an experience that should live up to the long wait for the next installment in this franchise.
