Nuclear Dawn, the mixes together the on the ground action of an FPS, with the eye in the sky management of an RTS is golden and ready to release on October 14th, 2011. Attempting to mix such diverse genres together is something that has not been explored all that often, and when it has, the results have not been pleasant (see Raven Squad for how bad it can turn out).
But developer Interwave is doing all it can to ensure that the title does gain traction and success with the hardcore gaming crowd. The game is built on the source engine, specifically the same tech used for Left 4 Dead 2, and will come with several maps, a dev kit so fans can create their own locations, a 32 on 32 multiplayer system which will allow for some great battles and of course, tons of Steam Achievements.
Nuclear Dawn will be available through most digital storefronts, although a collectors edition will be released at retail which will include a soundtrack CD and a full color art book. Look for Nuclear Dawn on October 14th, 2011 on PC and Mac from Interwave and Iceberg Interactive.
