Possible Details on Dead Space 3 Emerges
It’s going to get pretty chilly in the next installment of the limb-slicing horror title from EA, and we’re not talking about a little wind and rain. According to a report from Siliconera, Isaac Clarke’s latest adventure will take him to the icy planet of Tau Volantis, where he’s going to deal with blizzard conditions that would make the Ice Age look like a walk in the park.
After crash landing on the frigid planet, Clarke believes that he may be the only survivor and seeks shelter in an abandoned way-station. Once there, Clarke discovers a severely injured survivor, and learns that others have survived. Like any good survivor, they have wandered off going towards another facility. Nothing is ever simple for Mr. Clarke, is it? Among them is Ellie, a pivotal character form the original Dead Space game. Like any intrepid hero, Clarke grabs a snowsuit and runs off in pursuit of Ellie.
Eventually, Clarke regroups with Ellie and Jennifer, a new character who’s a techie that gets excited over finding a codex. Her plan to crack it is to reverse engineer some research done by a group called Rosetta in order to understand what’s in the pages. Of course, there’s always trouble wherever Isaac Clarke is, and this time is no exception. As the small group leaves their mountain hideout, they hear howling, but it’s definitely not from ordinary creatures out in the wilderness.
Whether we’ll see the return of the terrifying Necromorphs remains to be seen, but for now, Siliconera reports that the enemies encountered in Dead Space 3 have been named “the hive mind.”
Is anyone getting an Ender’s Game vibe around here…?
