PlayStation fans are about to get a treat from Thatgamecompany, responsible for some of the most simplistic and beautiful games out there. Many players will remember their debut title flOw, which first began as a web browser game and eventually became a downloadable title through the PlayStation Network.
Now, their latest adventure, Journey, is about to touch down, and what a quest it will be. Promising to deliver “a n inventive interactive game experience like no other,” Journey will be taking players on just that: a journey. The game is set to touchdown on the PlayStation Network in Spring of 2012, and in the latest PlayStation blog post, creative director of TGC Jenova Chen explained that they simply couldn’t wait to get the title out the door. “While there is still a ton of care and polish needed, we can’t wait to finally deliver Journey, TGC’s take on an online adventure game,” wrote Chen. “Like all our games, Journey is an experiment. In the end, it’s what you think that matters.”
Lucky, lucky PlayStation owners. Expect Journey to be nothing like you’ve ever played before, and expect it just after the Release Season of Doom.
