This Thursday, the IGN Pro League 3 gets underway at Caesar’s Palace in Atlantic City. Originally billed as one of the top North American tournaments for Starcraft II with a $100,000 prize pool, IGN has also added a $20,000 League of Legends tournament.
Starting at 10am EST on Thursday, October 6th, you’ll be able to catch all the action on one of IPL TV‘s six live streams. The tournament is going on all weekend, so you should probably check if there is a BarCraft somewhere near you.
Not sure who to watch for? There were 8 players invited, as well as 8 more players who have qualified through online qualifiers that have been going on for the past several weeks. EGIdrA and EGHuK of team Evil Geniuses are North American favorites. Everyone loves the “speecial tektics” of Ukrainian pro White-Ra. Of course, several Koreans will be giving everyone a run for their money, including the legendary Terran Emperor, Slayers_Boxer, and the Protoss President and multi-GSL champion, oGsMC, will be trying to reclaim some of his lost glory after a devastating loss in the most recent GSL October.
I’m pretty pumped for this tournament as IGN has had pretty good production values on their previous seasons, and this is the first major live tournament for the IPL. I’ll definitely be tuning into IPL TV as the tournament progresses.
