Dead Rising 2 was a good game that entertained me quite a bit when it was released, but I found myself thinking that it was missing one ingredient – Frank West. There was something about Frank that really tied the first Dead Rising together nicely. It wasn’t that Chuck Greene was terrible, but I never completely resonated with his personality.
Capcom knows that Frank West is a well-liked character and has looked to retcon the events of Dead Rising 2 by telling the story from the perspective from our favorite photographer, Frank West. Better still is that the weapons and gameplay seem to be going even more over the top, including the sighting of a dildo shotgun at one point in the new trailer. Dead Rising: Off the Record is coming to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 11th, 2011 from Capcom.
