Just one day after Apple’s big press conference, publisher Telltale Games made an announcement that shows the impact Apple has been having on gaming. The publisher announced that its fastest growing platform is none other than the Apple iPad. The revenue growth from publishing its games on Apple’s iOS devices has been rapid. In response, Telltale Games will be greatly expanding its iOS offerings through the end of 2011.
To date, eighteen of their games have been made available for iOS platforms in the iTunes App Store. It was reportedly the iPad that caused the greatest increase in revenue growth for Telltale’s iOS games. And with more than thirty-million of those in consumers’ hands now, and an expected fifty-four million to be sold in 2012 (according to analyst projections), Telltale plans to take full advantage of this momentum by adding more games to the iTunes App Store.
Thirty more of Telltale’s iOS games will hit the iTunes App Store by the end of the year including Sam & Max Beyond Time & Space, the first cases of the new Law & Order game, and a yet-to-be-announced game series.
