The End Becomes Dead Souls with New Yakuza Title

Apparently, no matter how hard I try to make Zombies a thing of the past, they remain popular in pop culture. Whether it is The Walking Dead, Plants vs. Zombies or Zombieland, I cannot escape the fact that zombies are all the rage.

Even Sega finds zombies to be super cool, as they announced last year that a new Yakuza title would be coming and it would focus on a zombie plague entering the city, and the Yakuza would be the only thing between zombies and the rest of humanity. Well, the title is still on its way, and we now have a new trailer, screens and box art for the retitled game, Yakuza: Dead Souls.

I want to hate the fact that this has zombies in it, but when you watch the trailer and you see the new character that has a minigun for an arm, I just have to love it. Along with this unnamed new character, we also have Kiryu, Majima and Akiyama returning to the series. The game does seem to be more focused on shooting than the previous brawling system, but let’s hope that we can still open up a can of whoop-ass with the Dragon of Dojima at some point.
