Release Date for Silent Hill HD Collection Spotted

Release Date for Silent Hill HD Collection Spotted

8 Oct, 2011

Amazon never lies, and we’re hoping that in this case Amazon doesn’t forget either. With the HD Collection craze hitting full tilt with the recent release of ICO / Shadows of the Colossus collection from Team ICO, news of 343 Industries remastering the original Halo, and news that Konami will be remastering Metal Gear as well, it’s a no-brainer that horror fixture Silent Hill will be getting the HD treatment too.

Announced at E3 back in June, the Silent Hill HD collection was tossed into the mix at Konami’s press conference, much to fans’ glee. Amazon has now listed the Silent Hill HD collection for release on December 31st this year in North America, and will be hitting both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The price is for $40.00 — a decent price for two classic games.

Whether the games will feature new voice casting and new control schematics remain to be seen, but we’ll be sure that Konami will do their best to bring us a quality HD remake.

Big thanks to Cody Winn of Nice Guy Gamer for the tip.

LOL, that’s obviously not the final date for two reasons:

#1: It’s been announced that the game will be released in 2012.
#2: Games are NEVER released on a Saturday.
