Remember that DLC that was talked about before the launch of Duke Nukem Forever? You know the one that was supposedly coming shortly after launch? Yeah, it seems that there was short circuit somewhere along the way from announcement to launch, but the DLC is finally arriving on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 today.
Entitled Hail to the Icons, it looks to parady a lot of conventions available in top tier shooters on the market today. You will get three new multiplayer maps with three new game formats to play online – Hot Potato (who can hold the babe the longest), Freeze Tag (played with the freeze ray) and Duke on Duke action in Hail to the King (a new deathmatch mode). The maps have you playing in a wartorn city, a sandbox complete with sandbox items and a level that is full of lava and 16-bit graphics.
You can pick up Hail to the Icons for $9.99 or 800 MS Points depending on platform. 2K Games was also nice to let out the casual nugget that you can pick up the game for the low price of $29.99. I will do them one better and let you know that you can get it on Steam from now until Thursday afternoon for $10. Not a bad deal at that price and you can get the full game and the DLC for two Hamiltons, which is not a bad deal.
Check out some new screens from the Hail to the Icons DLC pack, and yes, those are hats that you will unlock for use in the game.
