Mass Effect 3 Demo Detailed for Launch January 2012

22 Oct, 2011

Fans who simply can’t wait to get their hands on Mass Effect 3 will be pleased to hear that Bioware has announced a pre-release demo for the game. Available the beginning of next year, the demo will include both single and multiplayer sections, which will give fans a grandiose whetting of the appetite before the game releases on March 6th.

An exact date for the demo has not been mentioned yet, but a representative at Bioware said on the official forums that the demo will be released in all regions where the game will be. This is a first for Bioware, as previous Mass Effect titles didn’t sport a demo. Hopefully this will sway gamers who were sitting on the fence about ME3‘s newly featured co-op play.

Early access of the multiplayer is not available to everybody, however. Bioware has said that in order to access multiplayer in the demo, an access code included with Battlefield 3 on any console must be activated. While there is no need for any other sort of codes or promotions, players redeeming the code will need to have an EA account.

More announcements, including a demo date, will be announced shortly in November, along with how to gain access to the multiplayer demo without having to buy a copy of Battlefield 3.
