Start Shouting Objections and Pointing Furiously as Ace Attorney Movie Trailer Surfaces

8 Nov, 2011

Go ahead and say that this trailer looks silly, but not a lot of game-to-movie adaptations can boast this level of faithfulness to the original material. This is the first official trailer for the Ace Attorney movie coming out of Japan.

According to Capcom Unity, a rough translation of the trailer reveals the following key points from the movie, due out this February in Japan:

-Because of an increase in crime, the government begins a new legal system wherein trials must be closed within three days.
-Star characters from the Ace Attorney games will make an appearance, and of course will object to things quite frequently and with many a pointed finger.
-Takashi Miike is the director, known for edgy movies, including Ichi the Killer, and The Happiness of the Katakuris.
-Ryo Ishibashi is featured as Manfred von Karma, Miles Edgeworth’s mentor.

There’s still no word whether the movie will make its way out of Japan, but fans are hoping that it will see an overseas release. A couple of objections should help that case along.
