HBO and Atlus to Bring Game of Thrones to the Consoles, PC Next Year

Shocking news here, but I have never watched Game of Thrones on HBO. Yes, I have heard how it is a masterpiece, but I am not one to give the cable company extra money if I don’t have to, so I have never watched it at this time. But if you are a fan, and you have wanted a way into that universe in a game, HBO and Atlus are coming to your rescue in 2012, as they have partnered up to bring Game of Thrones to the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Now, you will not play as one of the main characters in the show, as is prone with most games based on this type of franchise, but two new characters with their own motivations in the world of Westeros. Both of these characters were a part of Robert’s Rebellion and they will pivot into key moments in the war for the Seven Kingdoms.

Game of Thrones will be set as an Action/RPG title, similar to the console Lord of the Rings titles, and will have you knee deep in combat, while buildling up skills and taking on quests that shape the underlying story.

Check out the first screens, box art and logos for the Game of Thrones title below.
