I’ve never played a single Final Fantasy game. That’s probably really bad, right? Yes! I hear you shriek, very bad! Well stow your primal screeches for a moment while I inform you that there are five, count ‘em, five new screenshots available showing Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Well, those certainly look like screenshots of what I imagine a Final Fantasy game to be like! For heretics like myself, the following information was included in the press release:
These new screenshots show further information about the following things:
- Crystarium:
o This shows the growth route of your characters. When you win battles and complete missions you receive crystogen points, which are used in the Crystarium to develop your characters, boost parameters, and grant powerful new abilities.
- Event Scenes:
o Caius was once Noel’s friend, his mentor. Why is he trying to stop them?
o What fate lies in store for Serah and Lightning?
- Monster Adornments:
o Decorative additions for your monsters can be found in locations throughout history. Use them to give your monster allies an extra bit of colour and jazz–they won’t affect battle performance at all, so feel free to try any combination you like.
It all sounds very intense and exciting, as a sequel should be. Previews of the game are set to be unleashed upon the Web from “Wednesday 16th November at 4pm GMT/5pm CET” and the game itself is targeted for an early 2012 release. Unless you’re a lucky resident of Japan, where you’ll be able to get your hands on it as early as December 15th.
