Skyrim Breaks the Ice with 3.4 Million Units Sold in Two Days

15 Nov, 2011

According to professional market-guessers, vgchartz.com, Skyrim has probably sold about 3.4 million units in just the first two days it was available. Obviously, this blows Oblivion’s 490,000 opening out of the water and is definitely one of the record game launches.

For a “core” title like Skyrim, this is absolutely amazing. Traditional RPG’s tend to sell much less than more mainstream offerings like Modern Warfare 2012.

Skyrim has also been the most popular game played on Steam bumping out TF2, Civ 5, and others to break the record for most concurrent players.
