Instead of focusing on more pressing matters like finishing up development on Final Fantasy XIII Versus, Square Enix announced that they will be opening their very own brand Android store in Japan on December 1st. Games like Dragon Quest Monsters Most Wanted, Final Fantasy, and Crystal Defenders will be offered at launch. According to Andriasang, other big titles like the classic RPG Chrono Trigger and others like Itadaki Street will be offered sometime later.
With the battle raging on between iOS and Android, a big publisher like Square Enix offering apps for the Android market is a great thing for users that don’t have an iPhone. Now, if only they’d offer cooler phone cases for Android phones, then all will be right with the mobile world. Maybe.
There’s no confirmation yet on whether this store will become available worldwide, but one can hope.
