Bethesda makes beautiful games, but with their games comes a lot of bugs. Skyrim is definitely no exception to this, as there were some textural issues on the Xbox 360 version, and then issues from PS3 players concerning lag as their save files increased in size.
First released for the PlayStation 3 on Monday, the latest patch, numbered 1.2, was released for the Xbox 360 last night and onto Steam this afternoon. For some users, the patch introduced the problem with backwards flying dragons. Yeah, you saw that right — dragons now defy logic by flying backwards, away from you.
The official forums on Bethesda’s website has been flooded with complaints concerning backwards dragons and the still-persistent issue with PS3 lag. Other users are saying that the patch causes elemental resistance to be completely ignored during combat, which makes the game significantly harder.
While no official comment has arrived from Bethesda concerning the issues, players may opt to not download the patch when prompted on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. You can still play the game in its original state, but you won’t be able to connect to either Xbox Live or PlayStation Network — only the most recent version of the game is allowed connection to both networks. If you have already downloaded the “patch”, it can be deleted through your system.
