Here is a strange oddity for the day – there will be a new Dirt title coming in 2012, but it will not take place in the sprawling rallycross environment that we have played over the last three Dirt titles. Instead, Codemasters is bringing the Dirt franchise to the arena in what appears to be a spectacle of destruction.
It appears from the initial launch video cars are smashing into one another in and all out destruction derby style of gameplay, but then you have rally cars that are spinning around and doing all kinds of gymkhana tricks, so I am not sure if this is a blend of the two or some sort of new style of competition that I am not aware of, but whatever it is, we will find out more in the coming months.
