PopCap has a load of great franchises tucked under its belt — Bejeweled, Plants vs. Zombies and Peggle are all massively successful, so it’s no wonder the casual gaming behemoth is expanding with its first HTML5-powered game and additions to the Android Market.

PopCap recently announced the release of Bejeweled, setting the popular game wild in the Google Chrome Web Store where it has been customized specifically for the ‘highly innovative HTML5 browser, with advanced 3d accelerated graphics and effects’. Snazzy! Included are two game modes, Classic and ‘Speed’. If Bejeweled is your game of choice, make sure to head over to the Chrome Webstore where you can install and play for free.

PopCap are also releasing the popular Plants Vs. Zombies on the Android Market — the game has been available across various marketplaces, but this announcement marks the first appearance of the game in the official Android Market. Peggle is also set to make its debut on the marketplace.

PopCap seem to be enjoying success after success in the casual gaming market. Plants vs Zombies business director Tony Leamer had this to say about the recent expansion:

“With the recent availability of Plants vs. Zombies on Kindle Fire, fans will now have access to the game on multiple devices and from several marketplaces.”
