The Netflix of gaming has arrived. GameFly has made their PC client available for public beta testing. For GameFly members, that means you get access to the new Unlimited PC Play content.
If you’re used to how Netflix runs its streaming service, then GameFly’s online model will be readily apparent. While you won’t find the latest and greatest titles available through Unlimited PC Play, you will find some gems such as Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia next to the lumps of shovelware coal like Hunting Unlimited 2010 and CSI: Hard Evidence.
If for some reason, you need a break from Skyrim and you have a GameFly membership burning a hole in your pocket, then be sure to check this out.

“If for some reason you need a break from Skyrim…” Wait is this a possibility? In all seriousness though, I don’t get the idea of this streaming service for the games. Video games don’t generally live up to the nostalgia of the memories that linger after our first play-through. So the idea of playing through a bunch of older games doesn’t sell me on a service now that I’ve found a better alternative. That alternative being: the Blockbuster Movie Pass from my employer, DISH. Now I know I could be called biased, so let’s look at this objectively, both services get you games by mail with no return dates or late fees, Gamefly has the aforementioned streaming-game service, but Blockbuster Movie Pass has the option for in-store exchanges, you can also rent DVD’s, and Blu-rays, has unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows, and a bunch of more traditional style movie channels. So it’s pretty obvious that the Blockbuster Movie Pass has more options, and it’s only 10 bucks a month plus new DISH subscribers can get it for free for 12 months.
